My dog has a small cut on his snout. What should I put on it for healing?

If it is a small cut you can put some Neosporine ointment on the cut, however, it is likely that Tank will lick it off. If it is a large cut then he will need to be seen by a veterinarian. If the cut is not bleeding profusely you can also just leave the cut alone for now and observe it. Should it get infected, he will need to see a vet. I realize this may not be possible under the circumstances.

This is a difficult place to put anything on, because it will just be licked off. From what I'm seeing in the picture, it is a very minor abrasion, so I would not be to worried about it getting any worse. For now, it's best to just keep the wound clean by wiping it with warm water occasionally. This should be completely healed within the next two weeks.

Place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent pawing or rubbing. It should extend at least two inches beyond the tip of the nose. This may be enough to allow healing. If not, have him examined by your veterinarian.

Any products you put on it might just cause a bacterial skin infection due to the moisture, or he will likely lick it off. Just leave it alone to heal on it's own. It might take a few weeks. I would put some neosporin in it twice a day. If it is deep, I would have your vet look at it to ensure she doesn’t need any stitches. I would not give her any human pain meds as most are toxic to dogs. I hope this helps!

Since that is just a tiny cut I would just disinfect it and otherwise leave it alone and let it scab over. It should heal without complications. Monitor the progress and should it swell and discharge pus, you will need to take your dog to a vet for some prescription antibiotics. But at this stage this looks like it will heal nicely without any treatment. Do not put hydrogen peroxide or neosporin on the scrapes, they will actually disturb the healing process.
