Cut my dog while grooming, no bleeding, applied Neosporin. Is she OK?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female

I was cutting a Matt of fur of my dog and accidentally cut her. There was no bleeding, she didn’t even react so I didn’t even know I had gotten her. About a thumb sized section. I feel terrible. I cleaned it and applied Neosporin. She isn’t touching it or anything. Still acting normal but I’m just worried. Is she okay?

Without seeing how it looks i can't really tell you if she needs treatment or not but if no bleeding occur a local antibiotic cream 2-3 times a day for a few days is likely to be enough as far as treatment goes.
