My dog is crying a lot suddenly. What's the reason and solution?

There is no way to know why Mickey is crying and demonstrating this behavior without more information. If he is eating and drinking normally, and does not have diarrhea or vomiting, that is a good sign that maybe there is nothing serious going on. I recommend a veterinary visit if this behavior continues to make sure he isn't painful or having some medical issue going on.

Crying out could be an indication of anxiety or pain in your dog. This may just be a behavioral issue and your pup cries out to get you attention. If these episodes are consistent and increase in frequency then I would recommend having your puppy checked out to make sure there is nothing causing him pain or discomfort. I hope this helps. If he is still eating and drinking well, and not having any other issues then it could be that he has arthritis and that is causing some pain or discomfort. Try to keep a journal of when he is crying/whining including time of day, as well as what he did that day (did he have a big walk, was he outside or inside all day, did he do a lot of stairs that day, what food did he eat that day, did he get a lot of treats that day, etc) This will help determine what the problem is. It is probably attention seeking behavior. I suggest you ignore it when he does that as to not reinforce the behavior. If no change after you have done that for a week or so then I suggest you get him to the vet for a check up to rule out any underlying medical problem.

Your dog needs veterinary care immediately. He could have a problem with the vertebrae in his back, a fracture or tendon injury to a leg, or severe abdominal pain. A full exam by a vet will help to zero in on the site of the problem, and then appropriate treatment can be given.

This could be due to a behavioral change (anxiety, fear, etc.) or it could be caused by an underlying health problem. Pain and discomfort due to a variety of causes can make dogs vocalize and seek human attention. I recommend taking him to your vet for a health evaluation to make sure that there is not a physical cause of this behavior change. Your vet can talk with you about ways to change the behavior if it turns out there is no underlying medical issue.
