My other dog caught a cold from new pup. How to treat at home?

Congrats on your new dog! It sounds like Rocky may have kennel cough, and while antibiotics can help with the symptoms, it will not cure them. Kennel cough has to run it's course, and infection typically lasts 3-4 weeks. He could also have a respiratory infection causing his symptoms, but without seeing him in person I can't say for sure what is the cause behind his symptoms. That being said, you may see some relief from symptoms with the antibiotics within 48-72 hours. If he's congested, you can try using a humidifier or bringing him into the bathroom with the door closed while you take a hot shower - the steam and humidity help to break up congestion and temporarily relieve symptoms associated with respiratory infections.

It's not uncommon that these shelter pups end up with an upper respiratory infection and it looks like Raven and Scarlette got it. These are usually mild diseases, but can be controlled with medication. I would call the shelter soon and ask if you can schedule with their vet. There is no specific treatment for a viral respiratory infection other than nursing care. However, Shelly's symptoms of clearing her throat with the discharge from her eyes could be something other than a viral respiratory infection - dogs don't get "colds" very often like people do, and I worry about the possibility of something more serious such as pneumonia, a tooth root abscess, or a heart condition, all of which could also cause either upper or lower respiratory congestion. If this has been going on more than a day or two, I recommend having Shelly seen by a vet. Your vet will do an exam, and will likely recommend chest x-rays if they have any concerns with the sound of her lungs or heart. Poor puppies! Since the sneezing and mucoid discharge began in all puppies a few days after going to the shelter for their vaccines, a URI seems most likely. The URI could be due to viruses, bacteria, or both, and most URIs require antibiotics for resolution. I recommend taking all of the puppies (all of whom have great names) to the vet for evaluation and likely antibiotics. Until you can get to the vet, keep their nostrils clear with a damp cloth and take them into a steamy bathroom a few times per day to help relieve some congestion. I would recommend taking her to the vet to have this checked, since she will probably need a course of antibiotics to treat the infection.

Based on the history, I am suspicious of an infectious cause and that Micah has given it to the other animals. Its extremely unusual for cats to get infections from dogs but its not impossible. There are many different organisms (bacteria and viruses) that cause respiratory infections and its possible that the antibiotic was ineffective for this particular infection or that it is a virus that needs to run its course. I would recommend another trip to the vet to have her checked out again to be on the safe side. Make sure Micah is drinking plenty of water and she is getting rest as this is good for her immune system. A fatty acid supplement will also help decrease inflammation in her nose and this may help relieve some symptoms as well.
