My dog has mild cold symptoms. Can I give her baby liver for iron?

I would not recommend it, especially garlic be had that is toxic to dogs. If there is bacteria in her upper respiratory tract, she will need antibiotics from a vet. If it's allergies they can tell you the dose for Benadryl. Please do not give anything over the counter until you talk to your vet. Kisses to Shelly!

To know if Biggie has a fever you need to take his temperature rectally with a digital thermometer. A fever in a dog is anything over 102.5 F. There are many causes for a poor appetite: Viral infection, foreign body, fever from infection or inflammation, intestinal parasites (the eggs are microscopic and can not be seen in the stool unless adult worms are passed), pain and many many other causes. Try taking Biggie's temperature. If he has a fever I recommend making an appointment today with your Vet. I hope this helps and I wish Biggie a speedy recovery!

This sounds like she has a mild cold or upper respiratory infection. Generally these are viral colds and will run their course over a week or so. Just like with us no antibiotics are needed unless she develops a secondary bacterial infection. If the discharge becomes green and her condition worsens then please bring her right in for treatment. No, you cannot give her baby aspirin or any other human anti fever medications as most are very toxic to dogs, as she is running a fever and has nasal discharge it's pretty obvious she is suffering from an infection and will need to be taken to the vet ASAP, she will need an antibiotic course.

Poor Baby. She likely has an upper respiratory infection. A lower airway infection (pneumonia) is possible also but typically pets are much sicker and have fluid sounds from the chest if this were the case. Upper respiratory infections in dogs are not like people colds, because they generally are caused by a bacterial infection which requires a short course of antibiotics to get rid of. Therefore, it's best if you get Baby seen by your local vet to be examined and prescribed medication. I would make it a point to get her seen within the next 24 hrs if at all possible, before her condition gets any worse. Don't be tempted to give her any over be counter cough medicine, because she has, what sounds like, a productive cough (coughing up fluid and phlegm) and therefore you don't want to suppress her cough. The vet will give her the exact medication she needs to get well again. I wish Baby a full and speedy recovery!

Take her to your veterinarian for an immediate check up. This sign is compatible with a upper respiratory tract infection (fungal, bacterial/viral more common) of the nasal mucosa. Normal dog temperature is 100-102.5. If he has a fever, I would take him to a vet to determine why. If he doesn’t, you can offer him ice cubes or soft rubber toys for the teething.
