My dog chewed carpet. Gums swollen, snout puffy. Should I see a vet?

She may have cut or scraped the inside of her mouth and may even have a piece to the stick stuck in there. Try to get a look in her mouth without struggling with her too much and making her afraid. If you see something and you can get to it, try to get it out but don't get yourself bitten. If her swelling doesn't improve or gets worse by tomorrow, get her in to see your vet as soon as you can so her mouth doesn't get infected.

Roxie may have gotten bitten or stung by something to cause that location reaction which can be painful. An infected tooth can also cause a swelling in the area. If she is eating and drinking well and acting normal otherwise, then keep her quiet tonight and have your vet check for dental disease tomorrow. If she is lethargic and the swelling gets worse, than I would have her check at an ER tonight

I would recommend taking Rozzi to a veterinarian. I would call yours in the morning. It is difficult to say definitively what is going on but from the pictures it looks like a potential tooth root abscess. A tooth root abscess can appear as one side of the face or mouth is swollen. The way to treat this is antibiotics, pain meds and pulling the affected tooth. If the swelling gets worse overnight then I recommend an emergency veterinarian for a possible allergic reaction. The concern here is that the swelling is spreading, and it could get big enough to obstruct her breathing. I think it's best to have her seen by a vet now to get this treated. I hope this helps.

Swelling of the face and mouth/facial swelling are often initial symptoms of an anaphylactic/allergic reaction. These reactions can occur in dogs after vaccines, after exposure to a food or substance they are allergic to, or after a bite from an insect. As it is impossible to predict whether an anaphylactic reaction will remain localized or progress to trouble breathing, which can be life threatening, it is safest to contact a 24 hour vet for Bella at this time to have her seen. The ER may recommend a treatment plan including anti-histamines, corticosteroids +/- epinephrine and montitoring until the selling has gone down. They will also likely recommend an at home dose for Benadryl after establishing a valid patient/client relationship if this should occur again as it is uncertain at this point what Bella is allergic to. Poor Pancake! Have her examined first in the morning. It's possible she has an infection or is having an allergic reaction. At home, applying a cool (not cold) compress the the reddened areas may help her to feel more comfortable. Keep her from licking the feet since this may make it worse. You may also apply a dab of coconut oil to the red areas and rub it in well (it may soothe the skin). Your veterinarian will be able to provide medications that will work much better. She will need treatment as well for the underlying cause. I hope she feel better quickly.

It sounds like he needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible. The swelling still being there after 2-3 days along with changes in breathing now can be signs of an reaction. The dark discoloration changes can indicate a change in blood supply to certain areas which is possible with snake or spider bites. A vet can see what medications will be best to help!
