My dog can't stand, is disoriented, and throwing up. What's wrong?

Based on the symptoms you are describing, I would recommend having Zeus examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. He may be in pain from a leg injury causing him to not want to move much and also could be affecting his appetite / thirst. Another possibility is that Zeus is currently dealing with Tick Paralysis. There are also other possible causes but these are just a couple. I would get him in sooner rather than later and if that means taking him in as an emergency, I would certainly do so. Poor Zeus! It sounds like he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. He could have an infections, parasite, metabolic/endocrine disease, musculoskeletal pain, etc. and your vet can run lab-work and take x-rays, if needed, to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat his problem. Please call your vet and have him seen as soon as possible.

There is no specific test for distemper, and treatment is symptomatic. You could have an MRI done of his head to see if there is a problem with his vet. Being this sick, he should be at the vet's under intensive care. I wish I could give you an exact diagnosis but I can't without seeing him in person. I'd take him back into a vet now. Best of luck.

Difficulty walk or standing, also known as ataxia, is definitely a cause for concern. This may be caused by neurological issues or a toxin. Xhesi should be seen by a vet immediately to determine the cause and be stabilized if necessary.

It sounds like Zeus has vomiting and diarrhea. Walnuts are toxic to dogs and can cause an obstruction as well as GI upset. Plus they are fatty, and can cause pancreatitis. Same with pistachios. He could have any of those diseases from what he ate, and when a dog isn't eating, is vomiting, and having diarrhea, he cannot be treated at home. Your only option is to take him into a vet immediately.

Poor King Meza! He does sound like he isn't feeling well at the moment, but his symptoms are a little general to pinpoint a specific illness. I'm wondering if you mean that his head is shaking when you say he can't keep it still. That would be involuntary head tremors, and could be caused by an injury, toxins, inflammation, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), weakness, or pain. He might be lethargic as well. You have a couple of options in this case. You can take him into a vet right away for an exam to be safe, and I typically recommend doing that since I can't see the animal in person to say if they will be ok or not. In my opinion, it's always best to be safe and have an animal seen by a vet when there are concerns about their health. The other option is to monitor him for now. If his symptoms continue for the next couple of hours, they worsen, or he develops additional signs such as vomiting, anorexia, seizures, or any other concerning signs, I would take him into a vet right away.

Oh dear! I'm afraid this sounds like a serious problem. If Oreo seems paralyzed on one side, cannot stand up, and is not eating, he needs to be taken to an emergency clinic right away to be seen. He may have sustained some type of head trauma or ingested something toxic, or may have a serious neurologic disease such as meningitis or encephalomyelitis. The ER veterinarian can do a complete neurologic exam to help determine what is causing his symptoms, and may also recommend blood work or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem so he can be started on appropriate treatment.
