What's this bump on my dog's tummy? Is it a bite? Should I see a vet?

It is concerning that is has been present for a week, as a bug bite would have likely resolved by now. I recommend having Layla seen by a vet as soon as possible, especially because the area is red and near the mammary chain. Your vet can either remove the lump or take a small sample to determine exactly what it is. I hope this helps and that all is well!

Daisy sure is cute!! So sorry she is having this issue. That looks like an open wound that is oozing. The lump could be an abscess or cyst that has ruptured. I would not consider this an emergency but I would try to take her in for an exam during your vet's regular business hours. It is very hard for me to tell much without seeing her in person. Any lumps/bumps that you notice on your dog should be checked out by your vet. Lumps are usually one of these things: * abscess (infection) * cyst * tumor/cancer There is no way I can tell you what it is just by looking at a photo but I have a suspicion these are cysts. That being said, usually they don't cause the dog any issues so that fact that he is biting at his tail makes me think he needs to see your vet.

It could be an insect or tick bite, it could also be ringworm, if this does not get any better within a week you will need to take her to your vet in order to get it checked and treated. try to avoid contact as ringworm is contagious to humans as well.

Did you see a spider make that spot on Loui's belly or are you assuming it's a bite? Most assumed bites cause hives, facial swelling and scratching. The picture could indicate an insect or spider bite but could be a lot of other things: start of a skin infection, contact allergy, trauma. If it is a spider bite you witnessed and there hasn't been any facial swelling or hives then hopefully the lesion on the belly is all you will see. Bit since he is so young and we are approaching the weekend, just have him seen by your Vet today so they can look at the area up close. I hope this helps and have a great day!

I see what you mean about the bumps on Lola! It looks like she could have hives, and that can be caused by an allergic reaction. I do recommend a visit to the ER vet now, as allergic reactions can quickly progress and cause serious problems such as respiratory distress. It's best she is treated now to prevent this from happening, so yes, please take her to an ER vet. Best of luck!

Thank you for providing pictures, they are very helpful! I see what you mean about the scratch but it doesn't look infected so I would leave it be for now. As for the lump, I'm having trouble seeing it in the picture, but I do think it's worth getting checked out by a vet. Call his vet tomorrow to make him an appointment. I hope this helps!
