My dog has a bump. Can I give Benadryl and wait 10 hours for vet?

These bumps could be from an allergic reaction, mites, fleas, or a skin infection. Because Benadryl hasn't helped and Kylo has had these bumps for a week, it's time to see the vet. The vet can diagnose the cause of the bumps, and can prescribe the correct treatment for them. I would take him into the vet in the morning. I hope this helps!

Signs of infection would include; Pain Redness- which is growing or spreading Discharge Foul odor Swelling Changes in appetite Vomiting or dirrhoea In the meantime you can apply a cool compress to the bumps forever few hours for the first 24, then switch to a warm compress. Hello, benadryl will definitely treat an allergic reaction, however, if your dog is also bruising and bleeding then that is not a characteristic of an allergic reaction that could be treated with just benadryl. I would recommend having him evaluated for this bruising and bleeding as benadryl will likely note treat this on its own. Hope this helps and best of luck!!!

It is best to get him to a vet. This sounds like an allergic reaction that can progress to worse symptoms where he has trouble breathing which can be serious. In the meantime you can give him one Benadryl capsule or tablet (25mg) to see if that helps.

You can give her an antihistamine tablet. This is probably an allergic reaction due to an insect bite or a plant outside. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if Arturo is lethargic, take her to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.

Poor baby! Yes, these appear to be hives most likely from an allergic reaction. I would give her 50mg benadryl by mouth and see how she does. If she gets more, starts vomiting, having diarrhea, or trouble breathing I would get her right away. Good luck. She is adorable

A bath in a mild shampoo with cold water can help rinse the skin and soothe it some. If the Benadryl is not helpin after 3 days then you may need to see a vet for prescription medicine and to make sure there is no secondary infection
