Can I give my dog a daily boiled egg? Safe for weight/cholesterol?

Dogs are not prone to heart diseases like humans, so it is safe to give an egg once a day, even if Bruno is going out only once a day (although he should get out at least 2 times a day for 30 minutes each time for various other reasons).

Eggs are fine as an occasional treat, but it's not something that Andy should get daily. The only food that a dog needs is a high quality dog food, which will provide him all the nutrients he needs to be healthy. Adding additional food on top of that will lead to extra calories and weight gain. Weight gain leads to obesity, which in turn leads to its own health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, and joint problems. It would be fine to give him a boiled egg (no shell) once or twice a week as a treat. You can also give him a scrambled egg, but make sure it's egg only and no seasonings etc. Good luck, I hope this helps!

You can give a BOILED egg as a treat once in a while. However, if you feed a complete puppy food for large sized dogs, you do not need to feed any eggs. Do not feed raw eggs as this will cause health problems (they contain avidine which causes biotin deficiency which in turn causes problems with your dog's nails and fur.

The yolk is fatty however, so you need to watch how many calories of dog food you are feeding so Peanut doesn’t become overweight. Also, if you are feeding a high quality dog food (like Hills, Purina One, Royal Canin, or Iams) you shouldn’t need to add eggs. Good luck and kisses to Peanut!

Cow's milk isn't digestible to dogs at this age, so I would definitely not give that or you will almost certainly get loose stools. A boiled egg is high in calories also, so its best to limit this to 3-4 times a week at most or you have the potential to make Charlie a bit overweight. He is a rather cute puppy though. If he tolerated it well, this may be ok, However, this should only be used to supplement his regular diet more as a snack to be given every once in a while as opposed to using it mainly as a complete diet.
