My dog has bleeding skin patches and a swollen eye. What's wrong?

Hello. Wowzo is developing a pretty severe dermatitis possibly due to an allergic reaction. This has led to a staph infection. He needs to be treated with a short-acting steroid & started either on an antibiotic or a medicated shampoo to help the skin to heal. Then, you & your veterinarian will try to figure out why this happened & what needs to be done to control or prevent the same thing from happening again. Oh no poor Belinda! She could have a foreign body in her eye or a severe eye infection. Unfortunately I’m not sure what you mean by her “eye’s skin,” but I’m wondering if you are referrring to the outer layer of her eye. If that’s what you mean, she could have an ulcer in her eye. The symptoms you are describing are extremely severe and constitute a medical emergency. She has to see a vet now or she could risk losing vision in that eye forever. Please take her into a vet immediately.

Please get trish assessed as soon as possible by your vet to identify and treat the underlying cause as well as any infections which have developed in the damaged skin. Your vet may wish to do tests to identify any mites which may be present under the skin

From the pictures, it appears Rosie has a severe skin infection that may be caused by a mite infection (mange) or flea allergy. She will need to be treated as soon as possible for this at your local veterinarian's office. Unfortunately, there is no home remedies for mange. Her skin infection (even if it is fleas) will need to be treated with antibiotics at your veterinarian's office. Using a monthly flea preventative will help prevent fleas from reoccurring. Please take her in as soon as possible. She really looks miserable in the pictures .

It could be an insect sting, an allergic reaction, mite infestation and many other thing, each problem has a different treatment. without at least seeing a picture i could not tell you what it could be in more details.

Her skin will be assessed and tests may be performed to ensure that she does not have mites or ringworm. If not, then allergies are common this time of year. Based on her skin, she may need antibiotics if there is a secondary infection. There are potent anti-itch medications that will improve her comfort dramatically as well. This could be caused by a couple of different things, and unfortunately, it's not possible to tell exactly what it is from the picture. It could be an infection, glandular cyst, or a type of skin cancer. Given that Isabelle is a light-colored dog and is older, I would want to rule-out skin cancer as the cause, because this could get much worse if not treated promptly. In order to get an accurate diagnosis, a vet will need to examine this and do some testing. They can also give some medication to control infection and/or inflammation. This is not an emergency, but it would be good to take her to the vet within the next day or two. I hope that helps and Isabella gets better soon.
