My dog is bleeding from its butt and breathing weirdly. Is it serious?

Yes, I would be concerned - especially due to the presence of blood. Vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy and rapid breathing are not specific signs of any one disease process or illness. Many things can cause these symptoms so it is best to get Lucy checked out by your vet. It may not be anything terribly serious but if you have her checked out it willl give you peace of mind. Some potential causes: dietary indiscretion (eating something she shouldn't have, gastrointestinal obstruction, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, toxin exposure/ingestion, internal parasites, gastric/colonic ulceration, viral or bacterial infection just to name a few. Hello, Based on the symptoms you described, I am concerned Girlie may have an infection in the uterus (blood could be from from vagina) or possibly a problem clotting her blood. I would recommend that you take Girlie to the nearest veterinary emergency hospital. She needs to have an exam, bloodwork, and an ultrasound.

She may have an infected anal sac or the mucous membrane of the rectum may be injured or she may have a rectal tumor. If the bleeding does not stop you will need to take her to a veterinarian or pet ER for an exam.

Lacey needs to be seen by veterinarian immediately. This could indicate a severe case of colitis or gastritis, a severe infection, a foreign body, internal bleeding or even something as serious as parvovirus. Dogs can get very dehydrated from this and have secondary issues with her kidneys and liver. Do not give her anything to eat or medication until she is seen by a veterinarian.

It sounds like she needs to have some testing done to determine what the underlying problem is so that she gets the proper treatment. A pet that is having difficulty breathing, not eating and blood in the stool (could be due to stress), sounds like a possible lower airway infection or even pneumonia. She needs to go to another vet for a second opinion, bloodwork and chest radiographs to evaluate her lungs. Poor Jack! It's quite serious that he has bloody poop, which can be caused by a foreign body, trauma to the intestinal tract, intestinal worms, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, and possibly GI tumors. Jack has to see a vet immediately, so I would take him into one now. If you don't want to assume financial responsibly for him, I would call the SPCA to come and get him. They can get him the medical treatment he needs, and can find him a home.

Coughing in dogs can be caused by pneumonia. upper respiratory infections, heartworm disease, or heart conditions. Bloody diarrhea can be caused by inflammatory bowel disease, viral diseases such as parvovirus, toxin ingestion, or bacterial infections. Sometimes, severe parasitic infections can cause these signs.
