My dog bit a metal pipe, his gums are bleeding. What should I do?

Constant bleeding from the gums is not normal and not that easy to stop. It could be a bleeding disorder or a gum/teeth condition, it needs to be checked by a vet, if it's a tooth that is causing this, or something that is stuck in the gums, your dog will need to be put under sedation in order to solve this issue.

This could be due to gingivitis or other periodontal conditions. Have Diesel physically examined by your veterinarian. A complete dental cleaning may be indicated. If he will allow, daily brushing would slow the progression of dental disease. Use a pet approved toothpaste and toothbrush.

Oh my. At this age your pet shouldn't have too much dental disease to cause bleeding gums. This is definitely not normal and I worry that Abdul may either have a bleeding disorder (which can only be diagnosed and treated through your vet) or there may be multiple cuts in the mouth from something sharp your pet recently chewed on. I would highly recommend taking Abdul in to your vet to have them examine the mouth asap since a bleeding disorder is a possibility here. If there are cuts in the mouth that is causing this, then an oral rinse and oral pet friendly anti-inflammatory medicaiton will likely be prescribed. There is most likely a wound in the mouth which is why he is drooling. I highly recommend having him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Poor Osi! Apply gentle pressure if he will let you to try to stop the bleeding. Take him into the vet first thing in the morning, and don't feed him in the morning. The vet will likely need to sedate him to remove the broken tooth, and he needs an empty stomach to be sedated safely. Best of luck.

This may be a wound with impacted food, or it could be from infection of the roots of the incisor teeth. I would recommend having your vet examine Thor's mouth - they might recommend a dental exam and x-rays to better determine what is going on.

I recommend making an appointment with your vet when they open to take a look at it. Though she isn’t acting painful, it may become painful or infected. There isn’t anything you can do at home and no safe medications you can give for pain. If it is broken, she will likely need to undergo anesthesia to have the tooth removed.
