My puppy cries in pain from his back and can't walk. What's wrong?

Poor Peanut! Pain like this can be caused by a fracture, bone or joint infection, or nerve damage. I recommend having Peanut seen by a vet as soon as possible - they may recommend x-rays to determine the cause of the pain. In the meantime, you should keep Peanut as calm as possible to prevent further trauma. I hope all is well with Peanut!

Sorry to here that Kemo is having some troubles. There are many things that can cause pain in dogs. Some of them include trauma, degenerative diseases, inflammatory conditions, spinal issues, cancers, clotting disorders, and some others that are less common. In a small breed dog of about six years, my top two differentials would be some sort of traumatic event (that could have happened when you were not around) or an issue with the back. Many times when dogs are lifted and they yelp, it is a spinal problem causing some pretty severe discomfort. If you have ever had back pain yourself, you know just how uncomfortable this can be. Based on the severity and progression of the problems, I would say that Kemo definitely needs a visit to the vet sometime soon. They will be able to perform a thorough physical, and based on the findings, determine if x-rays are warranted. They will be able to target what part of the body requires x-rays. There are many medications available to treat inflammatory conditions and trauma, as well as pain associated with the back and spine. I hope you are able to work through things with your vet to resolve Kemo's pain.

That sounds serious and I recommend to have Bailey seen today by her veterinarian. The main things that come to mind are an injury of some sort or congenital abnormality to the neck or spine. Any injury however to the legs could look like this if Bailey is in so much pain that she does not want to move. Severe GI pain from an intestinal blockage may also look like this. An infection could also make a pet not want to move around and feel very bad. Regardless, it's been going on for a week and it's not going away. This sounds like he has bad back or hip pain. He needs veterinary attention right away. They will prescribe pain medication and may do X-rays to determine if he has hip or spinal arthritis. With treatment he should improve if he was fine before. Sometimes back or arthritis pain is worse after a lot of activity, or from being confined and not being able to move around. Pain on extension of the hind legs can be indicative of hip pain, knee pain, spinal pain, or even a soft tissue injury in that area. I would recommend having Coco evaluated by a veterinarian so he/she can perform a complete physical, orthopedic and neurologic exam to better localize his pain. Based on what is found, he/she may then be able to prescribe an anti-inflammatory pain medication to help Coco feel better. I hope this is helpful!

Your dog needs veterinary care immediately. He could have a problem with the vertebrae in his back, a fracture or tendon injury to a leg, or severe abdominal pain. A full exam by a vet will help to zero in on the site of the problem, and then appropriate treatment can be given.

It sounds like your dog is uncomfortable or painful from some reason. He may have a back injury, a disc problem, or hip problem, or even abdominal pain.
