Why is my bulldog's back leg locked and she can't walk after sleeping?

I could see how the leg could be stiff if he lay on it all night. That happens to me sometimes if I lay on one arm all night while sleeping. It's a good idea to have him checked out by a vet on Monday. Best of luck.

It's quite serious that he can't use them, and I would have him seen by a vet tonight for a physical exam and x-rays to diagnose what is causing his symptoms. The most common condition causing this symptom in this breed is called patelar luxation which is basically displacement of the knee cap. you will need to get it checked by your vet to assess the severity of the condition, it might require surgery depending on the level of pain and lameness.

I would definitely have her seen by your vet as soon as possible to determine what is causing her to be in so much pain. Poor Grace. It may be she injured her hip in the crate. I'm concerned about the screaming when you move or touch the leg. Unfortunately there are no pain relievers you can give her at home. Many human ones are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I'd take her into a vet now to get treated.

If one leg is harder to extend it could indicate early arthritis or it may simply be that she is holding it back tighter. I wouldn't worry if she is moving about fine, but you could always have the vet check it out. It might be worth starting her on a joint supplement with glucosamine and chondroitin.
