My dog ate used vegetable oil and feels sick. What should I do?

  It is obviously quite difficult to digest used vegetable oil and will likely trigger vomiting and diarrhoea. It could also cause pancreatitis because of the high content of fat. I would recommend a check up in order for Petey to get better as soon as possible and avoid events escalating.

  Vegetable oil is very fatty and will cause G.I. upset as you unfortunately already know. If it cooked onions or garlic there’s a potential for toxicity. It can also cause pancreatitis because of its high fat content. I recommend to take Cookie to the veterinarian for medications to make him feel better and watch him very closely over the next seven days has pancreatitis could set it at any point. Signs of pancreatitis can vary but are usually vomiting not eating well and feeling lethargic. If these are seen he needs to go back to the veterinarian. You can also change him to a bland diet for the next seven days as this may help his tummy to settle better. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.
