My puppy ate a spider that was sprayed with bug spray. Is it toxic?

In general, most over the counter pesticides when dry, will not harm pets. The most common signs seen will be some transient vomiting, possible drooling, and possibly diarrhea when ingested in small amounts. Obviously there are many different kinds of pesticides available and the signs associated with them can vary greatly. The label on the original container for the pesticide should have a phone number to contact incase of concerns and more specific guidance may be found there. Ingestion of dead spiders is not likely to lead to any significant illness. As your dog is reportedly fine, it is unlikely you will see any problems at this time. Of course, if you notice your dog acting ill, please seek veterinary attention.

For that reason, Chigger may be just fine. Fortunately this poison is not very poisonous for dogs but if he licked it he could suffer from vomiting, lack of appetite or diarrhea for a few days. if the symptoms are quite severe you will have to take him to the vet in order to get it treated.

Did you see a spider make that spot on Loui's belly or are you assuming it's a bite? Most assumed bites cause hives, facial swelling and scratching. The picture could indicate an insect or spider bite but could be a lot of other things: start of a skin infection, contact allergy, trauma. If it is a spider bite you witnessed and there hasn't been any facial swelling or hives then hopefully the lesion on the belly is all you will see. Even if the cockroach had come into contact with some type of insecticide, it's extremely unlikely that there would be enough present to cause any toxicity issues for Bubbles - so as long as he's acting normal, you shouldn't need to worry :)

No, typically tick spray isn't fatal if licked. There is a potential it could have some toxicity, but the dog would have to ingest a large amount. Given that they lived outdoors and were strays, it could be that they got into something toxic outside, could have had a serious disease like parvo or distemper, could have been attacked by another animal, or could have been hit by a car. I'm very sorry they died. If you come across any more strays, I would contact your local RSPCA to come and get them. I hope this helps.
