My dog ate salty noodles. Why is she drinking and peeing a lot?

I am sorry to hear about Beaux! It could be that he ingested something high in sodium/salt and this is causing his excessive thirst, but we do worry about things like grapes and raisins causing kidney issues, so if anything of that nature was in the trash I would recommend an exam right away, or if any medications could have been in the trash. If the excessive drinking continues past today, or if he begins vomiting or acting lethargic a visit to the vet today is recommended as we do worry about them developing an obstruction of the intestinal tract if they swallow something that gets stuck, or pancreatitis. Drinking and urinating a lot can be due to a many different things. The more common problems are excess heat in environment, increased salt intake, liver disease, kidney disease, toxin ingestion (antifreeze is a common one) certain infections, diabetes and Cushing's disease. Without more information and being able to examine Tiddles, it's difficult to know what the cause is, but considering this could indicate a severe problem, it's best to have him evaluated by a veterinarian. It doesn't seem to be an emergency right now, but it's best to have him checked-out within the next 24 hours. The vet will be able to better assess his condition and recommend further testing if needed. Hi, I think it is best to have Millie checked over. It is difficult to tell without examining her what could be wrong. A urine test will help, by looking at her urine concentration and if any bacteria are present. It could be a urine infection, or could she have drunk too much salty water ? A check up will reassure you that it is nothing too serious and how to move forward. I hope she gets better soon and that she continues to enjoy her walks at the beach as soon as she gets better !

He will pee constantly if he’s drinking that much. He may also be losing sodium in the urine causing him to want to lick sweaty people to get additional salt. That much drinking and urine are not normal and could be a sign of kidney disease. I recommend a veterinary exam and blood work to check his kidney function and check for diabetes which also could cause these signs. Early diagnosis of a medical problem will help get him the proper treatment if needed and could prevent progesssion of the disease. Brave girl! She may develop some vomiting and or diarrhea, as this food may cause some irritation to her GI tract. Offer her a bland diet such as boiled chicken and white rice for the next couple of days. If she is drinking a lot of water and urinating a lot this can be a sign of an underlying disease - number one would be diabetes. Did your vet do any blood testing? If not, I suggest you have that done now. The other option, if she is not spayed, is a pyometra (uterine infection). Again, bloodwork would reveal this as she would have a very high white blood cell count. Please take her back to the vet for some blood testing.

I recommend taking her to a vet for blood work to rule out diabetes, Cushings, or kidney disease. These are all illnesses that cause increased thirst and she may need treatment.
