My dog ate a price tag. Should I worry? What symptoms to look for?

Since those pieces are small, it is safe to monitor for any GI signs such as vomiting and diarrhea, lethargy or a decreased appetite. There is a good change that can pass through and you will never notice a problem over the next 24-48 hours!

He may be experiencing symptoms of having a gastrointestinal obstruction though other things like dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, among other things could also be going on. For this reason, I recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible to ensure that this does not become worse and to see if he will require therapy such as surgery if he is in fact having an obstruction. It could cause him some issues but there is no way to predict that. I suggest you just monitor him closely for any abnormal signs like vomiting, not wanting to eat, extreme lethargy, abdominal pain, etc. If you notice any of those then get him to your vet right away. He may get some diarrhea which would be expected from the steak but that should clear up on it's own. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

If he continues to vomit than you should be worried and have him examined by a vet. Your vet can take an X-ray to look for signs of an obstruction. If the vomiting has resolved than just monitor him for additional signs.

Monitor her for the next 24 hours. Watch for lethargy, vomiting, loss of appetite, straining to defecate or abdominal pain. If she goes beyond this with no symptoms, then she may be in the clear. If she develops any of the above symptoms, have her physically examined by your veterinarian. Pancreatitis or intestinal obstruction are real concerns after such a "meal".

If you are worried she ingested an object, like a sock or shoe then you would watch for signs of gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, lethargy, or straining to defecate. If you are worried about a toxin ingestion these signs can vary widely and can include GI upset, rapid breathing or heart rate, excessive drooling, trembling, seizures, drunken appearance/gait, dilated pupils, pale gums, lethargy. If any of these signs occur seek veterinary care right away.

Hopefully Nymeria will be ok. There is always a chance for an intestinal obstruction to occur within the first 2-12hrs of ingesting a foreign body, so continue to monitor her for this time frame for any signs of trouble which include: excessive vomiting ( even water), lack of appetite, abdominal pain and severe lethargy. However things are looking good so far, especially since she has eaten and kept it down.
