My dog ate pork cooked with onion. Is it safe or toxic for him?

Amara should be just fine. :-) From the picture, it does not look as though the pork chops contain bones. She may experience GI upset as a result, and this could include vomiting once or a loose stool for a day or two. As long as Amara is not vomiting persistently (more than 2-3 times in a 24 hour period), her appetite continues to be good, and she does not develop bloody diarrhea or diarrhea that persists more than a couple days you should be in the clear...

Your dog will be ok. Your dog would need to eat about 1/8th of a cup of onions in order to be poisoned. It was good that your dad scraped off all the onion. You do not have to worry about onion poisoning in your dog if the liver was cooked in the same pan as you describe.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is possibly due to gastrointestinal upset but most importantly, this may be a gastrointestinal obstruction. There is no way of treating this at home without knowing what it is exactly. If this is a gastrointestinal obstruction, this needs to be treated with surgery most likely. I highly recommend you consider going to a veterinarian as soon as possible as I am afraid King may become dehydrated. I am hoping for a speedy recovery!

This can make a dog prone to a condition known as pancreatitis. The disease can be triggered by high fat foods and is characterized by vomiting and diarrhea. Next, puppy food is designed and balanced to support growth. If he is eating pork, he will consume less puppy food. This has the potential to affect his growth and development. The problem with raw chicken and raw pork is that they may be contaminated with certain detrimental bacteria. So monitor your dog for diarrhea and vomiting. Should this occur you can try the following: I would fast Alley for 24 hours and then put her on bland food for two days, such as boiled white rice and boiled white boneless chicken meat, fed in small quantities over several feeds and then transition back to regular food slowly over a few days. If this does not clear up the diarrhea or if the vomiting increases, or if your dog gets lethargic, it needs to see a veterinarian for an exam as there may be something more serious such as an infection going on.

A few pieces of onion ingested by a dog of Mochi's size will likely cause nothing worse than some minor stomach upset, if anything at all. She would need to eat 2 or 3 med/large onions in order to be at risk of serious toxicity. If she develops vomiting or diarrhea but continues to behave normally, you can fast her for 24 hours then feed a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Transition slowly to her regular diet afterwards.
