If Kai is throwing up and not eating or drinking, then she needs to be seen as soon as possible. Because she got into the garbage, she could have an intestinal blockage from the wrapper, or have pancreatitis. Both of these are serious conditions that can be life threatening. If he ingested the actual plastic tray it could cause an obstruction in his stomach or intestines if he ingested a large enough piece - if it was chewed up it probably wouldn't be as much of a concern. If there was chocolate or raisins in the cake there is potential for toxicity (more so for raisins than chocolate I'd imagine because it doesn't sound like there was much cake left. If it was just the plastic ingested I think you could keep an eye on him for the next few days and contact your veterinarian if you notice any vomiting, decreased appetite or diarrhea. Hi, if the wrapper has been thorn into pieces it will probably pass through his gastro intestinal tract together with other food. If it was a large piece swollowed as whole, there is the risk of obstruction and you need to monitor him closely for any vomiting or diarrhoea or straining to go to the toilet or abdominal pain. I would add canned pumpkin to her food (1/2 can in morning and at night) to see if that helps her defecate. If she is still not producing feces, is in pain when attempting to defecate or begins vomiting or show other symptoms, I would have your vet take a look at her. No need to worry! Licking the wrapper won't be enough chocolate to cause Hazel any problems. Even eating a bit of the wrapper is not a worry. This should dissolve in her stomach acid and pass without issue. You don't need to do anything. I hope this helps!
