My dog ate plastic poop bag tube, acting normal. Should I go to ER?

I would expect that something like this would most likely pass through Gg’s gastrointestinal tract without a problem, however plastic can get stuck at any point. If you notice vomiting, diarrhea or a decreased appetite I’d recommend contacting your vet right away.

If it was ingested within the past hour, you can take him to the ER and have them induce vomiting to see if they can get it back out. That size has a good chance of getting stuck somewhere along the intestinal tract but could potentially pass. Signs of a blockage are vomiting, lack of appetite, belly pain, and/or lethargy.

A tiny piece of plastic like this is unlikely to cause any problems with Ella. You can monitor her for signs of GI obstruction which would include vomiting, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, and lethargy. If these occur, then she should see her vet right away, but I don't expect that to occur with the small amounts she may have ingested, they will likely just pass through her GI tract. You can feed her something high in fiber to help the passing, such as a piece of whole wheat bread or a teaspoon or two of canned pumpkin.

As long as he is eating and drinking normally, I would not be concerned. If he begins to vomit or loses his appetite, then I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at him and perform some diagnostic testing such as x-rays to help rule out a foreign body obstruction from the plastic. It's good that she passed this, because they can occasionally get blocked. As long as Juju is otherwise eating, drinking and acting normal, there is no need to see a vet. There is always a possibility that she ate some other foreign object, but there is no need to look for it unless you know that she ate something. For now, it's best to monitor her for any signs of an obstruction. Signs of an obstructions are vomiting, not defecating, acting very painful/depressed and a decrease in appetite. If you notice these signs, then Juju would need to go to the vet immediately for emergency surgery.  I hope that helps and all is well with Juju.
