My dog ate a lot of peanut butter with palm oil. Is she okay?

  Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This may result in gastrointestinal upset or pancreatitis though they may be just fine without any clinical symptoms. I highly recommend that you continue to monitor them closely for any signs consistent with gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting, inappetence and/or diarrhea and have them evaluated by a veterinarian if these are observed.   It is possible that butter could cause pancreatitis, but that small amount is unlikely to cause a problem. However,’if she has a history of pancreas problems then I would be more concerned. If this is the case then she should be seen by your veterinarian immediately to discuss inducing vomiting. However, with a low risk ingestion I usually don’t induce vomiting as aspiration can be a risk of vomiting and may pose more risk than the butter. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
