My dog mouthed non-toxic thinking putty. Is he going to be okay?

I can't find anything in my resources that suggests that this is toxic to dogs, and I've never seen a case where a dog got sick eating it. I would suspect that since this product was distributed for children, it's likely non-toxic. However, the ASPCA's poison control hotline for pets may help. Hello. He will be just fine. Poor Zeus, his sense of smell is so much better than ours that one good whiff was enough to just about knock him off his feet. But he will be fine. As long as Hoyle didn't consume a large quantity of this stuff he should be OK. This product is primarily an irritant to the skin and eyes, and doesn't seem to have much toxic effect unless consumed in very large quantities. This doesn't sound like the case in this instance so great news! Hope this helps.

Writing ink is generally not toxic, and must be consumed in large quantities before medical attention is needed. The amount of ink contained in a pen is unlikely to cause toxicity in Pancho, but I would be more concerned if he ate the pen portion itself. If he hasn't, gently flush out his mouth with warm water, and clean any ink in his mouth. You can monitor him for signs of ink toxicity (vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, mouth irritation), and if you see any of those signs, take him into the vet right away. Otherwise, I think he will be ok :-)

No this should not be toxic to the point of life-threatening illness if a little is swallowed. At most, you may see some stomach upset (vomiting, diarrhea) in which case a bland diet of boiled plain chicken OR lean ground turkey and rice can be given to help settle the stomach. Peita should be just fine! Depending on the type of toad, they can have some toxins on their outer surface that taste awful so predators will spit them out if they try to eat them (which sounds exactly like what happened with Peita). Once the source (i.e. the toad) is removed so is the taste. So you do not need to worry!

Since it has been a couple days since this occurred, I Smokey will likely be just fine if he has not shown any abnormal clinical signs yet! Things to monitor for include vomiting, decreased appetite, lethargy, and increased drooling. I hope this is helpful.
