My 6lb Pomeranian ate an Imodium. Should I worry about overdose?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | 3 months and 30 days old | 6 lbs

Hello my 6 pound Pomeranian dog ate one Imodium 2g pill about one hour ago. And I am afraid she will get sick or overdose. So far she’s fine.

That is about double her dose for her weight. It can cause constipation and abdominal cramping. I would try to feed her canned pumpkin and canned food to make sure she gets enough water to help prevent constipation. If you notice any blood or her straining then I would see a vet.
