Hello I gave my puppy who'd about 3 lbs the dewormer for 5 -25 lbs. I grabbed the one that said small dogs and puppies. Will this harm my puppy? > rescued the puppy from craigslist and was going to use low cost vet services this month for shots. The puppy has not been deformed and was taken from its mother at about 2/3 weeks. He just ate the dewormer with his afternoon meal.. he's acting fine and has no symptoms at this time.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Roundworms do take multiple doses of dewormer usually given every 2-3 weeks but it is a safe medication to give sooner. It is usually given 0.1mL per pound (so 0.5mL for 5 lbs). Kisses to Powder!

Hello. Yes, this is a dewormer for dogs to remove hookworms & roundworms. It is safe for puppies & you would administer 5ml ( 1 teaspoon ) for every 10 pounds of body weight. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
