My 10lb dog accidentally ate a 15mg tab of generic human Meloxicam. All of the vets near me are closed. What will happen to my dog?

Yikes! This is 15-30 times the amount I would give a 10 pound dog. If it happened within the last 2 hours, I would take Katie to an emergency vet to induce vomiting. If it has been longer than 2 hours, I would still recommend going to an emergency vet for IV fluids, activated charcoal to decrease absorption, and baseline bloodwork values. She will also need to get started on medications to protect her stomach from ulcers. Overdosage of meloxicam in dogs can cause serious problems and even death from GI bleeding, kidney failure, and liver failure.
