My dog ate hemp hand cream. Is it toxic? What symptoms to look for?

Overall it’s not toxic but it can cause some minor gastrointestinal upset depending on how much she actually ingested. This means she could have some mild vomiting and/or diarrhea. If you notice any of that then she should be examined by your vet.

I recommend to call the manufacturer of the hand cream. They will be the best one to ask if there are concerns with toxicity. If there are ingredients which could be poisonous, your puppy needs to get to the veterinarian right away for treatment. Best of luck.

Bag balm is non toxic, but it could cause Snow some GI upset in the form of vomiting or diarrhea if she ate a lot of it. Should you see that, withhold food for 12 to 24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet.

If your dog did not eat the actual tube and only the content, there should be no problem as non of these ingredients is toxic. However, there is a possibility that Max may get diarrhea. If that happens, you can do the following: Take your dog off food for about 12 hrs, then feed bland food such as boiled rice with boiled white chicken meat in small quantities over several feeds a day. Do this for a day, then start replacing small quantities of rice with his normal food over the next two days until he is at the normal quantity of his regular food. If the diarrhea does not go away by the end of the third day, or your dog is lethargic and dehydrated,you will need to take your dog to a veterinarian for an exam.

Dove soap isn't toxic, but you may see some GI upset from this. If you see persistent vomiting and diarrhea, bloating, pacing, pain, swelling of the face and muzzle, or difficulty breathing (the last two symptoms could be caused by an allergic reaction to ingredients in the soap), take Zoey into a vet immediately. Hello there! The lanolin itself is not toxic, but may cause some temporary, greasy diarrhea. I see that he is an Australian Shepherd- since he is long haired, I will give you the gross warning that there may be a smelly bath in his future after the lanolin passes. As long as he did not ingest any large pieces of plastic, I would not be concerned. If you're not sure if he got any large pieces, the signs of a serious problem from ingesting plastic would be: not wanting to eat, lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you see those signs, I would recommend a vet visit and an x-ray to make sure he does not have any plastic stuck in his intestinal tract. I hope this is helpful!
