Husky puppy ate grapes and now has green diarrhea. Is she still sick?

The grape ingestion may or may not be related to the current symptoms. In a dog that size, 1 grape should theoretically not cause toxicosis, however, there are dogs that display symptoms after eating very few grapes, so it is not impossible. I recommend being cautious and taking Juno to your veterinarian. They will want to check bloodwork to make sure kidney function does not seem impaired. There are several other possible causes of diarrhea including food intolerance, parasites, viral or bacterial infection, and stress. When you go to your veterinarian, bring a sample of the stool so they can look for parasites. If everything looks okay, you could try a new food with a protein Juno hasn't had before, such as rabbit, venison, or fish. You may also consider adding fiber, which can be done by feeding a couple spoonfuls of canned pumpkin to the meals. Lastly, a probiotic or yogurt can add some healthy bacteria back to the system. Hi, I dont’ think the vomiting and diarrhoea is related to the grape ingestion. It could be that she has also eaten something else ! I would recommend to have her checked over 48 hours post ingestion to check her blood, to make sure that everything is fine. Hope this helps !

She is likely going to have some major GI upset, especially if the treats contained a lot of fiber (which pumpkin does). Picking up her regular food and offering a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice may help with minor digestive upset and get her feeling better. If she doesn't pass stool, continues vomiting, seems very painful, has blood in her stool or vomit, or her stomach/abdomen look very bloated, painful or she is in distress, then it could indicate something more serious ongoing which should be seen ASAP by a vet.

Your poor pup! The color of her diarrhea could be from eating a lot of grass, but it could also be from intestinal parasites, rat poisoning, or other illnesses. I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Withhold food for 12 hours then offer Mia boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if she is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put her back gradually on her normal food. If she continues having diarrhea , take her to the vet to get treatment.

No, it's normal to have diarrhea for this length of time in a puppy, and while it could be caused by the change in food, he could have something else causing it such as intestinal worms, a GI illness, or a foreign body. I would take Marshall into the vet first thing in the morning. Given the length of time he has had it, he definitely needs to see a vet right away. Offer a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. This can be boiled boneless/skinless chicken breast, ground turkey, ground beef (cooked/drained) or cottage cheese mixed with plain white rice. You can serve it warm or mix in a teaspoon of baby food to stimulate Alaska's appetite. Once she is eating, slowly transition to her regular diet. If her appetite does not return or if she develops other symptoms (lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting) then have her examined by your veterinarian.
