I gave a Nickel size piece of pink grapefruit flesh to my dog before inquiring if it is a safe food choice. Is it toxic?

According to ASPCA toxicology section, the fruit is not toxic if ingested in small parts. Skins and plant material can cause problems as Vomiting, diarrhea, depression; potential dermatitis.
The fruit can be toxic if given with some medications as can interact with their absorption and bioavailability.
I would recommend to monitor for those signs listed, but if nothing is seen there is no need for a veterinarian consultation.
