Dog ate Girl Scout cookies, now sick. When should I take him to vet?

There is likely not enough chocolate in the cookies to cause chocolate toxicity (also since she is a large dog). However, even if it was too much chocolate, it is already past the point of being able to decontaminate her (remove the toxins). I suspect she isn't felling well because of stomach upset (diarrhea) from eating the cookies. I would recommend feeding her a bland diet for 2-3 days (boiled chicken and boiled rice) then transition her back to her normal diet. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. If it has been less than an hour since your pet ate it, you can induce vomiting by giving an oral dose of hydrogen peroxide, about 1 cc per pound. One tablespoon is about 5 cc. A turkey baster will work if you don't have a syringe. Longer than an hour and it will have already moved into the intestines. That amount of chocolate in the cookies is probably not enough to do much harm but watch your dog for signs of staggering, imbalance, and seizures. If any of these occur, get your dog in to see your vet immediately.

I doubt the number of chocolate chips in 1-2 chocolate chip cookies would be enough to cause chocolate toxicity, however any rich food can potentially trigger vomiting and diarrhea in dogs. Monitor for gastrointestinal upset (vomiting and/or diarrhea). You may want to withhold food for the next 24 hours, allowing small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. If Louis develops GI upset, the fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts will typically resolve the issue. Transition slowly to his regular diet after symptoms abate.
