My dog ate Extra gum. Is it life-threatening? What should I do?

Hi, My 14 year old Boston Terrier just got into a trash can and ate 2 pieces of gum from the brand "Extra". Could this be life threatening?

Yes this could be life threatening if the Extra was sugar free and contains xylitol. Xylitol is highly toxic to dogs and is fatal without treatment. Because I'm not sure if the Extra Oliver ate contain xylitol, and if you aren't sure either, the best thing to do is rush him into the vet immediately. The vet can treat him for xylitol toxicity if the gum contained it. Good luck, I hope this helps!
