My dog ate curry from the trash. Is it food poisoning? Should I wait?

While this may cause them to have some GI upset (vomiting and diarrhea) there is nothing that is toxic to them. I would fast them for the next 12 hours or so, watch for vomiting, diarrhea and monitor their energy. If they are free of symptoms, then you can feed small amounts of their normal diet at first, then resume normal feeding. If at any time they do develop vomiting, diarrhea, poor appetite or decreased energy, I would take them to your veterinarian. Sometimes pets can get a more serious illness called pancreatitis after they get in the garbage. Some can also have a blockage in the stomach or intestines if they ate any of the packaging. Both of these require veterinary treatment.

if the dog is still active I would recommend to monitor her (watch for activity level, appetite, water intake, vomiting and diarrhea) and keep her without food for about 12 hours, then introduce bland diet such as boiled chicken breast and rice. BUT if the vomiting continues despite all of this, or your dog seems to be becoming more depressed or listless, or the dog not eating then call your veterinarian or a local emergency hospital.

After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.

What a lovely pup! It sounds like Bud has quite an upset stomach, he may have eaten something that hasn't agreed with him or been off. In that case he should be okay and if you starve him for 24 hours then feed bland rice and chicken for a few days his stomach should settle. However, it could be something more serious, if Bud seems dull or lethargic or starts vomiting I would urge you to take him to the vet. More serious conditions would be poisoning or an obstruction. Go to the vet immediately if his stomach looks bloated. Finally, if his brother has died recently there is a chance Bud could have an underlying condition from birth, hopefully not though. Keep a really close eye on him and if he seems really sick or dull please go to the vet.

When a dog eats poison ivy, it can cause GI problems such as vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Luckily though, ingestion isn't fatal and if you do see some GI signs from Sam eating it, I can give you a home remedy for it. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. As he is otherwise well this is likely an enteritis due to stealing something spoiled from the trash. Continue to monitor closely for any other signs and feed small meals of bland, low fat food. A probiotic supplement may also speed recovery

If she did not eat the plastic baggie then she should probably be fine. Her symptoms should be self-limiting (meaning they should resolve on their own in 24-36 hours). If she actually ingested the baggie then I would be a bit concerned that it is causing an obstruction. If she ate the baggie, I think a vet visit is in order. The diarrhea is not as concerning as the vomiting. I would recommend you hold her off food for 8 hours to give her GI tract a rest. If after 8 hours there is no more vomiting, then you can start feeding her. Small feedings of her regular diet every few hours for a couple days. You can also add in probiotic (one made for dogs, not humans). You can pick up a probiotic at your local Petco or any large pet store. Other than the probiotic do not give any medications.
