My Morkie puppy ate cranberry and B12 vitamins. Is he okay?

B12 isn't likely to make your dog sick, but you can call your vet to make sure. If you have doubts, I suggest calling a pet poison helpline, such as this one: http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/contact/ If it has been less than 2 hours since your pet ate it, you can induce vomiting by giving an oral dose of hydrogen peroxide, about 1 cc per pound. One tablespoon is about 5 cc. A turkey baster will work if you don't have a syringe. Longer than two hours and it will have already moved into the intestines.

You may see some gastrointestinal upset (vomiting and/or diarrhea) in the next 4-12 hours. The ingredients should not cause anything worse. Withhold food for 12 hours then offer a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Transition slowly to the regular diet afterwards. Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite or abdominal pain.

Hello, I do not believe you need to worry. Vitamin B is water soluble and therefore, in theory, any excess should be urinated out. I would recommend monitoring her for the day. He should be okay. Monitor him for vomiting, not eating or drinking, diarrhea, or abnormal behavior. You can feed him a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice just to be safe. If he is acting off take him to the veterinarian.

I'm surprised that Moxxi ate a Vitamin C tablet because they are usually very bitter. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin, so we don't need to worry about toxicity, but high levels of Vitamin C can irritate the stomach and cause diarrhea. I would be worried that Moxxi may develop some stomach upset from that level of Vitamin C. It would be worthwhile to contact your veterinarian if she starts vomiting or develops diarrhea.
