My chihuahua ate cat food and his stomach is tense. Is he okay?

This will make it tasty to Sweet Pea, but can definitely upset her stomach. She may experience vomiting and diarrhea. In this case, she will need to see her veterinarian to ensure she has not developed a potentially serious condition known as pancreatitis which can be triggered by high fat foods. If she continues to whine and not act like herself, I would still have her seen. She may be painful somewhere else such as her neck or back. He’s eaten more food than he should and you don’t want him to bloat. I would take him out just long enough to potty, then bring him back in. He can resume his normal walks tomorrow. Oh no, that was naughty of Lady to eat the cat food. Certainly eating too much food can lead to bloat, but one to two cups isn't a lot of food to a large dog such as a Golden Retriever. You could see some stomach upset from it such as the diarrhea you have described, but she won't die from it. I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps her stomach. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. I will also give you that symptoms of bloat just in case, but as I said, it's very unlikely that this amount of cat food will cause bloat. Signs of bloat include attempting to vomit but being unable to, enlarged abdomen, pacing, restlessness, looking at her stomach, labored breathing, and excessive drooling. If you see any of those signs, rush Lady into a vet immediately. Otherwise, she should be ok :-)

First off, I'm so sorry you had to put your cat to sleep tonight. I did this recently with both a cat and dog, and completely understand the pain you are in. Given that Daphne ate her dinner fine, she may just have stomach upset. Keep an eye on her tonight and if she has diarrhea in the morning and still appears bloated, have her seen by a vet. At worst, you may see some stomach upset (vomiting, diarrhea). If so, withhold food for 24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. Begin with 1 tablespoon of food every hour and gradually increase the amount if there is no vomiting. Feed bland until symptoms resolve then transition slowly to the regular diet. Symptoms that should be addressed by your vet include persistent vomiting or diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite or abdominal pain.

It's possible Oreo could have an upset stomach. Picking up his food and then offering some bland food such as boiled rice and chicken can help with minor GI upset. If the gurgling continues or he seems ill, a vet visit is best to rule out more serious illness, parasites, etc that could cause stomach upset.
