None of those nuts are specifically toxic, though the high fat content could cause some vomiting, diarrhea, or pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas that can cause a lot of pain and vomiting). I would recommend taking him to the veterinarian now. My concern is that Pepper has been vomiting for what sounds like awhile and is now lethargic and yelping. This may be pancreatitis, this can be a foreign body or it may just be a simple gastrointestinal upset. If it is something more serious it should be treated sooner than later. Poor guy. It sounds like he may be painful in his belly or even his joints. This is concerning when a pet is painful and also isn't eating. I would highly recommend that your friend take Peanut to the vet to get him examined. Wasabi can also upset their belly. I am concerned that if he suffers from a chronic history of pancreatitis, he may develop this from eating fatty items like almonds. I recommend that you monitor Quigley closely for any evidence of gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting, diarrhea and/or inappetence. if any of these signs are observed, have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. It could be that he has pain in his back causing him to yelp when you pick him up or touch his stomach. I recommend resting him for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a leash, and bring him right back in when he's done. If he still appears painful after this time, then I would take him into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. He may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I hope this helps!
