My dog ate Buscopan. Is this human medication toxic to my Cockapoo?

The concern I would have about this is if Tucker did eat any of the pills. Buspirone is an anti-anxiety drug, and while it can be used in dogs, depending on how many he may have eaten, he could suffer an overdose of it. You may see vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, or disorientation. It would be best to have Tucker seen by a vet now who can decide an appropriate course of treatment for him to prevent any chance of overdose.

While Dexilant isn't a drug regularly used in veterinary medicine, I found information that states "According to toxicity studies there was no effect from the drug on dogs when given at a dose of 5mg per kilogram (2.2 pounds) of body weight for several days in a row." With his weight of 85 pounds, there will be no issues. Just do not give him anymore. I hope this helps!

Bisacodyl (Dulcolax) is often used as a laxative for dogs, so there should be no problem other than soft stool, maybe some loose stool. Side effects such as cramps, nausea and diarrhea are common, especially if your dog takes other medications. However these should pass relatively quickly. If those side effects appear severe, have your veterinarian examine your dog and make sure there is not another problem lurking.

Senokot tablets (stool softeners) are safe to use in dogs and the dosage is 25-50mg per pet for small breed dogs. Your pet may experiene some soft stool but she likely will be just fine. The vomiting is likely some mild stomach upset, which can occur with just about any medication or from her ingesting something else she shouldn't have. I would recommend giving her a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for the next few feedings to settle her stomach and fast her (no food, only water) for at least 12 hrs following her last vomiting episode as you have indicated you have already started to do. Otherwise, if she continues to vomit, there may be something else going on concurrently, and I would suggest taking her in to your vet for an overall health check. I hope that Sophie feels better soon! She likely will be just fine, especially if her energy level is good and she continues to have a good appetite with no further vomiting episodes. He should be fine. You may see some vomiting, diarrhea and/or lethargy. He would need to ingest 8 of the pills for there to be a risk of toxicity. If necessary, withhold food for 24 hours, allowing small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until any symptoms of GI upset resolve. Transition slowly to his regular diet afterwards. If symptoms persist or worsen, have him examined by your veterinarian.
