My dog ate a greasy fast food burger and now has diarrhea. Help!

Poor Parker. It may be this fry has upset his stomach. I can give you a home remedy for him to see if that helps. Withhold food for 8 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, he starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck.

Rockie is adorable and I'm sorry to hear that he isn't feeling well. After eating a heavy, greasy meal, he may have developed gastroenteritis (inflammation in his stomach and intestines) or pancreatitis. Aside from assuring that he is drinking water and offering a bit of a bland diet (boiled white meat chicken and rice) as you have done, there isn't anything more that can be done at home. Young puppies are more susceptible to the effects of dehydration than adult dogs and need to be treated a bit more urgently. At this point, Rockie needs to take a trip to the vet for an exam, diagnostic testing and supportive care (IV fluids and medications). I hope that he is feeling better soon!

This is not uncommon following new and rich foods and generally will settle down within 3-5days. A probiotic/fiber supplement such as fortiflora alongside a bland diet may help rebalance the gut and monitor closely for any persistent vomiting which may indicate the need for a vet visit and additional treatment

Maxi can get pancreatitis from this or diarrhea and vomiting. I would recommend giving her a bland diet (boiled chicken and white rice) just to calm everything down and then monitor her. If she starts vomiting, diarrhea, not eating, becomes lethargic then I recommend bringing her to a veterinarian. If she isn't vomiting and she just had diarrhea yesterday Iw ould say it is ok to wait until morning. If she starts vomiting, becomes lethargic or has bloody diarrhea overnight then I would recommend taking Goldie to an emergency veterinarian. This is probably just from him getting something rich he was not used to eating. I would keep an eye on things, as long as he improves and is back to normal in a day or so, not to worry. However, if he is lethargic, starts to vomit, the loose stool/diarrhea continues, is not interested in food, or anything else that seems abnormal for him, get him in to be seen by your vet as there may be something more than a brief dietary indiscretion going on.
