My puppy ate bougainvillea flowers. Why is he making weird noises?

So the Boxwood tree is actually very poisonous to dogs, and in small dogs, it does not take too much to cause severe toxic symptoms, even death. One sign of toxicity is vomiting. Now without seeing her in person, I can't say if she will be ok and because this can be very serious, she should see a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. It can cause gastro-intestinal upset, labored breathing, eye discharge and sometimes neurologic problems. The most common signs are stomach upset: vomiting, diarrhea, not eating. I am hoping that Buddy's symptoms are mild. If he is eating and has stopped vomiting I would feed him a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day for 3-5 days. If he won't eat or is still vomiting he should see a Vet today for supportive care. I hope this helps and I wish Buddy the best!

Poor Phoenix! The bougainvillea leaves are classified as mildly toxic to dogs, and it does cause diarrhea. That could be the cause of her diarrhea, but it could also be intestinal worms, a GI illness, or a foreign body causing it. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain, but because she has had diarrhea for two days now, it's time to see the vet. Any dog who has diarrhea for longer than 24 hours should see a vet. I would take her into one today to get checked out. Best of luck.

Some puppies can make noises while they eat, which can be normal, and if Bojangles is eating too quickly he could be choking a little which is causing the gag. Trying to get him to slow down in his eating and drinking with a slow-down bowl (or placing a few tennis balls in the bowl) or feeding smaller meals more frequently may help. If he is choking a lot, acting like he can't breathe or is painful, is vomiting or can't keep anything down, or seems in distress from it, a vet visit to rule out anything is always best.

They may have to be removed under sedation if they are bothering your puppy. Please, take Loki to your local vets for an appointment. Your vet may recommend sedation to assess the mouth and the throat for presence of the spikes.

\it's definitely possible, he could be allergic to this bush and if this is the case that could the reason why he is scratching all over. if the itchiness does not seem to stop in the next 12 hours i strongly recommend taking him to the vet in order to get it treated.
