My dog ate fatty treats and a bone. Not pooping. Should I worry?

While she could develop dietary indiscretion from eating something high in fat, pumping her stomach would probably be a bit much. I would watch her closely for signs of dietary indiscretion like vomiting, diarrhea and inappetence and if observed have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment at that point. There is a chance that she will be ok with this and not develop any signs though I would watch her closely in case she need therapy. Good luck and best wishes! I hope she does great!

Constipation is pretty uncommon in dogs, so the bigger concern would be an obstruction, or a GI upset from raw meat (such as diarrhea or pancreatitis). Fortunately, raw bones are quite digestible in the stomach and often pass without incident. Monitor Bayliss closely for a decreased appetite, vomiting, or lethargy. As long as he is eating normally without vomiting, I am not worried about obstruction. However, if he shows any symptoms of lethargy, inappetance, or vomiting then a vet visit is appropriate. Sounds like she got into quite the treat! Mocha may have a bit of an upset stomach after eating so much, so if she experiences any vomiting or diarrhea, you can pick up her food for a few hours and then offer her a bland meal of boiled rice and chicken to help settle her stomach (though if she ate a lot she may not be hungry for a bit!) Sometimes, dogs can eat these bones without chewing them which may cause choking or obstruction (they do digest over time), so watching out for any signs of problems such as attempting to vomit or defecate without success, coughing, choking, bloody vomiting or diarrhea, bloated abdomen, painful belly or walking hunched over is a good idea as they can indicate something more serious and urgent is onging. If she does show these signs, or seems pretty ill, seeking vet care in person is best.

Naughty pup! He should be fine. At worst, you may see some mild stomach upset ([vomiting](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/vomiting-1/) and/or [diarrhea](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/diarrhea-1/)). If he hasn't vomited by now, he likely won't vomit at all. Mild upset can usually be[ treated at home](https://www.petcoach.co/article/how-to-treat-your-dogs-upset-stomach) with a short fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. He may also become constipated from all the treats, so if he hasn't pooped in more than 12 hours, try adding some plain canned pumpkin (**NOT pumpkin pie filling**) to his food and increase exercise. Both may stimulate defecation. Make sure he has plenty of fresh water as well. If he doesn't defecate for more than 24 hours, have him physically examined by your veterinarian.

Naughty dog! I too have a counter surfer. ;) The biggest concern here would be possible pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) due to the high fat content. (the pancreas produces enzymes that help digest fat, and when the pancreas is overwhelmed it can cause pancreatitis). Generally symptoms include vomiting, inappetence, and abdominal pain. Its not LIKELY to cause pancreatitis if your dog doesn't have a history of this problem, but it is POSSIBLE. It will likely cause some loose stools. If you have an emergency hospital nearby, you could consider taking him there for them to induce vomiting, to try to minimize the chances of him developing pancreatitis. (If you are the "do everything I absolutely can to prevent a problem" type.) However, I don't think it is absolutely imperative that you do that....unless he has a history of pancreatitis in the past. It is reasonable to just monitor him at home, and feed a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice for next day or two. Expect some loose stools, but if he starts to become lethargic and/or starts vomiting and/or is not wanting to eat, take him to your vet. Bones can dissolve in the stomach with enough time. It sounds like Kyro had a bout of pancreatitis that caused the vomiting and diarrhea. If Kyro is now acting normal, I would continue to feed the bland diet and see what happens. It may take a day or two for there to be enough food ingested to create solid poop. If he stops eating, starts vomiting again, or seems lethargic, he should be re-examined by a vet.
