My dog ate black walnut, now vomiting and has more worms. What to do?

It is difficult to tell from your description what this may be. It could be something Roxy ingested and threw back up. If she is on monthly parasite prevention then she may be protected against most intestinal parasites. If not it could be a number of things and not all dewormers are effective on all parasites. I would recommend having an intestinal parasite test or fecal done on a stool sample by her vet. This can indicate what types, if any parasites she may have. I recommend you take your puppies to the vet, along with a sample of their feces so the vet can run a fecal test if they so choose. Your puppies need regular deworming, as infestations of worms can make them very sick, and severe infections can be deadly. Worms in the stool (dead or alive) are cause for concern, and some types of worms can even be transmitted from dogs to humans and make them sick. Black stool indicates digested blood from the upper GI tract (esophagus, stomach or upper small intestines). It could be that Daisy's dewormer killed a large burden of parasites in her stomach that contained blood, or that she has a significant GI ulcer. Daisy should see her vet to determine if there is a likelihood of active bleeding, a heavy burden of parasites in her stool, and then treat with any necessary antacids. Given her young age, this sign is more concerning and urgent in nature.

It sounds like Zeus has vomiting and diarrhea. Walnuts are toxic to dogs and can cause an obstruction as well as GI upset. Plus they are fatty, and can cause pancreatitis. Same with pistachios. He could have any of those diseases from what he ate, and when a dog isn't eating, is vomiting, and having diarrhea, he cannot be treated at home. Your only option is to take him into a vet immediately.

Intestinal worms are a common cause of diarrhea in puppies, so that could be causing it in Rocky. Give him a deworming treatment, and another two weeks after the first one to kill all the worms. He should be dewormed monthly until he is six months of age, and then should be dewormed every three months thereafter. I'm sorry to hear that you're seeing worms in Lucky and Kieron's poop and vomit! "Ringworm" is actually a term for a fungal skin infection, so I'm assuming you mean that you're seeing roundworms - these look like long, thin spaghetti noodles. You can get an over-the-counter broad spectrum dewormer like Strongid or Panacur from most pet stores to get rid of them, if you wish - just follow the instructions on the label for dosing, based on their weight. Or if you prefer, take a fecal sample to your vet's office to be checked. They can tell you for sure if you're seeing roundworms or some other type of parasite, and will prescribe an appropriate dewormer to treat your pups depending on what is found.
