My dog ate bacon grease and paper towel, vomiting. Should I worry?

As long as she is bright, has normal energy level, has good appetite and is passing normal stools, she should be fine. However, if you notice any of the worrying symptoms, you should get her checked by your local vets in the morning.

I imagine the bacon grease and paper towels upset Dozer's stomach. It's good that he was able to pass feces. I'd keep an eye on him for now. If he's still lethargic in the morning, starts vomiting, and/or stops eating, have him seen by a vet. I hope this helps.

A paper towel by itself probably wouldn't cause an obstruction but if there was grease on it or he ate something else he could have gastritis, pancreatitis or an obstruction. If he is acting more normal today, feed a bland diet such as chicken and rice for a couple of days (Plain, no fat, skin, bones or seasoning). But if he continues to vomit or not eat, has diarrhea or constipation he should be seen by his vet. I hope he feels better soon.

More than likely, Max will be fine. The paper towel should pass through him, and I would monitor his poop to see if it comes out. There is a chance the grease from the fried chicken could cause some problems, such as pancreatitis or GI upset. If Max begins vomiting, especially undigested food, that is a symptom of pancreatitis, and he will need to be taken into a vet right away. I would monitor him for vomiting, not eating, lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting water, and not drinking water. If you see any of those signs, take him into your vet immediately.

Ideally, she should be seen at the nearest veterinary ER. The doctors there can 8ndice vomiting via injection. This is most successful when done within 2 hours of ingestion. The bacon may cause stomach upset (vomiting or diarrhea) or, more seriously, it can cause pancreatitis (due to the fat content). Pancreatitis is painful and can be life threatening if not treated promptly. If a vet visit is not possible, withhold food for 24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. If there is stomach upset, feed bland until symptoms resolve then transition slowly to the regular diet. Symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian include lethargy, persistent vomiting or diarrhea, loss of appetite or abdominal pain.

I'm sorry to hear B.B. is not feeling well. Grease on the paper towel can definitely upset the gastrointestinal tract causing vomiting and diarrhea. Pancreatitis is another possible consequence as well as the potential for a intestinal blockage from the paper it's self. If it has not resolved within 48 hours, I recommend to take him into the vet's office. Bloodwork and radiographs will determine if pancreatitis or a blockage is present. If he is dehydrated they will give him some fluid therapy. A bland diet of chicken and white rice or one of the prescription plan diets can also help to decrease the G.I. upset.
