My puppy ate aspirin 3 hours ago, no symptoms. What should I do?

She did eat a higher dose than recommended (10mg per pound of body weight at the highest, so 60mg) but after 1 hour, the aspirin has already been absorbed by her system . Of course, you can take her to the vet now if you are very worried. After examining her they could probably council you better. If you choose to just monitor her, watch her closely for any signs of illness and if you notice anything abnormal get her to a vet immediately. Contact the ASPCA animal poison control center at (888) 426-4435 and they will help you determine the potential severity of Max's ingestion based upon the maximum amount of ibuprofen he may have ingested for his current body weight. From there, I expect that he will need to go to an ER vet for blood work and likely fluid therapy and monitoring. Excedrin is highly toxic to dogs due to the aspirin, caffeine, and acetaminophen in it. All three of these ingredients are toxic to dogs. You will see vomiting, and there will be other damage that may take days for symptoms to appear, such as liver damage and GI ulcers. If your dog ate excedrin, she needs to see a vet immediately. I do not know how much she ate, how much she weighs, or the strength of the pills she has eaten, so I can't say for certain how long it will take for side effects to appear. I can say for certain she does need to see a vet now because this drug is toxic to dogs.
