My dog has acute kidney failure from NSAIDs. Is it reversible?

Those lab tests look great! Yes, in some cases acute renal failure can be completely reversible with IV fluids and supportive care. Unfortunately this is a very severe and dramatic presentation and renal failure is not possibly reversed. Healing is unfortunately not possible even though this process can be slowed down. Hospitalisation and fluid therapy is highly recommended and nutritional support is needed.

In many cases of acute kidney injury, recovery is possible but not guaranteed. Intensive treatment is required to support her until her kidneys have a chance to recover and regular monitoring would be recommended to track any ongoing effects if she does recover

It looks like he is suffering from some liver and kidney values elevations and he also is anemic. (Low red blood cells). Since I do not not his current condition and how long this has been going on, it is difficult for me to give you a survival time. If this has happened quickly and could be a toxin then with aggressive therapy (hospitalization and IV fluids), then these values could go back to normal and stay that way as long as there wasn't any permanent damage. If this has been chronic and his urine is very dilute then this could be permanent damage to the kidneys which is a much poorer prognosis long term. I would still recommend hospitalization and IV fluids if possible. Unfortunately no, chronic kidney failure cannot be reversed. It is ultimately fatal. It can be treated but it cannot be cured. If was acute kidney failure, there is a chance it could be cured. I'm sorry.

An acute kidney injury in a young patient does have a chance of recovery and return to reduced but sufficient function depending on the severity of the injury and degree of scarring which develops.
