Accidentally gave my 5lb Yorkie 25mg Vetprofen early. Will he be okay?

I would not worry at this point but I suggest you not give her any more Vetprofen until 24 hours after the last dose. If you have some Pepcid (famotidine) 10mg on-hand you can give her one of those daily for the next few days to protect her stomach. If you notice any vomiting or not eating get her to your vet ASAP. You gave him a little over the daily recommended dose for once per day. He should be fine with this, do not give him anymore tonight, and tomorrow wait until 24 hours after you gave him the full pill and then start half twice daily. I hope this helps.

A one time dose of 100 Mg for a 68# dog is not likely to cause any problems. However, I would recommend skipping the next dose. The average dose is about 1 mg per pound every 12 hours, but some veterinarians will give a double dose every 24 hours. So, basically 100 Mg is within an appropriate 24 hour dose for him. Accidents happen! Fortunately, the carprofen won't impact her heart disease or interact with the pimobendan. However, there is a chance that she could experience some stomach upset with vomiting and/or diarrhea, particularly since this is a pretty big dose for a dog her size. With this kind of dose, the worst case I'd expect to see could be ulceration of the GI tract. Normally, carprofen is prescribed at a dose of 4.4 mg/kg over 24 hours. Today, your dog consumed 7.86 mg/kg. In most cases, we don't see toxicity impacting the kidneys until a dose of 40 mg/kg is ingested. With all of that in mind, your dog should be absolutely fine! In order to be extra cautious, I'd recommend feeding her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for a few days, then gradually mix it in with her normal food over 5-7 days. You can also call your vet to see if they can give a dose for an antacid, like Pepcid. (It's illegal for me to do so without having examined your dog.) If you see any vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or blood in the stool, you should call your vet right away. I hope that everything goes well!

The dose you gave him is exactly what he needs right at the high end of the dose range (if he is 49lbs like it says on your profile). It depends on how much and which type of anti-inflammatory drug administered. For example, if your veterinarian administered the exact same amount you just did of the same medication, that would be a high dose which could lead to side effects such as anorexia, vomiting, diarrhea and gastrointestinal ulcers. Depending on what your veterinarian administered and the total dosage, they could recommend starting Beau on a medication such as omeprazole to try to prevent a possible gastrointestinal ulcer. If it happened in the last 2 hours they could also consider inducing vomiting. Contacting your veterinarian for those specifics is the best way to go at this time. Good luck!

Dosage of Carprofen for a dog his size is about half of that, which means most chances it won't have a huge effect on him if he only had one pill of 75mg but do watch him for signs such as vomiting, lack of appetite and blood in the stools. if you notice any of those- take him to your vet immediately.

At the high end of the dose range for Benazepril, Maui's dose would be about 13.6mg so she has not had a toxic dose. You may see symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, weakness, etc. If you see these symptoms, I would get her in to be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible.
