Hi. I'm deciding to get a doberman pinscher as my first pet ever. It sounds scary, but I'm determined enough to make this decision. I first fell in love with this elegant, intelligent, elegant breed when I was 12. I'm 19 right now and I've done all my research for this breed, but is it necessary to get their ear's cropped to get the iconic look. This process looks painful for the dog and expensive for me. I just want to know if there is a way around this or is this a myth. Thanks!

Yes, there is a specific age and an adult is too old. Ear cropping especially is painful to a dog. If you can find a vet who is willing to do this to Pablo, he would have to be under general anesthesia to have it done. I strongly urge you not to do this, it's not a needed surgery, it's basically plastic surgery for dogs, but you can check with local vets to see if someone will be willing to do it.
