What are the dangers for a small dog sleeping outside in Australia?

Generally she should be fine outside, you live in a pretty warm area so she could stay outside all year round. snakes can be a real problem though, especially in the spring so you need to pay attention to that.

If his dog house is clean, and insulated then he should have no problem sleeping outside. Make sure you regularly clean it and wash his bedding to keep parasites at bay and do regular flea prevention.

If he is happy in the garage and it is safe for him to be there without being supervised (beware of antifreeze and other toxic chemicals, electrical cables etc) then i recommend creating an insulated indoor kennel in there. Styrofoam sheets, old duvets and bubble wrap can all help to insulate bedding areas

As long as a dog is safe and secure, has adequate shelter/warmth and appropriate access to food and water there is no reason why they must be indoors or outdoors for any set lengths of times. Space to exercise and play is great for dogs and many are happier outdoors as long as they have a comfortable sleeping area

Nanga can lay in the sun, but it's best that's done through a window indoors in the air conditioning. She should not get too hot, or that will cause heat stroke. Do not let her do this outside as I know it's extremely hot in Australia at the moment.

Hello, the Australian Shepherd dog is actually a herding working breed. It is not recognized as an arctic breed such as a Huskie. Therefore Aussies cold tolerance is not as good as an arctic breed. In general, if it is too cold outside for you, then its too cold outside for your dog. Assuming that it is appropriately warm, sheltered and she has access to water, then it should be OK. I would slowly introduce (over a couple of weeks) her to staying outside rather than going from full-time in your room to 100% outside. This way she has some time to adapt. The fact that you have a few dogs that are not vaccinated out there carries a big risk for the pup. One risk is that she will be attacked by the bigger dogs. These attacks can be deadly for a puppy this size. The risk of disease transmission is equally as concerning. It's definitely possible that Princess could contract a deadly disease like Parvo or Distemper from your older dogs. I highly recommend they all get vaccinated before introducing them and it's best to wait until Princess has gotten her 16-18 week vaccination prior to exposing her to other dogs.
