No, I never recommend vegetarian diets for dogs. Being a vegetarian is a human construct, and should not be forced on a dog. Given a choice between eating meat or veggies, a dog will chose meat every time. You should give Patch a puppy formulated food. I don't recommend raw diets. There is a chance that bones could cause a GI obstruction, splinter and perforate the GI tract, and bones do break teeth. In addition, there is the risk of getting sick from Salmonella and E.coli from the raw meat to both Luther and you. Royal Canin has a Dalmatian Junior food for puppies from 2 months of age to 15 months. It is specially formulated to meet a Dalmatian's nutritional needs. It's best to get him a food that is meant for large breed puppies. The brands that put the most research into these particular products are Hills and Royal Canin. There is a lot of misleading information on the front of many brands of dog food, but the most important thing on that bag is a tiny bit of writing under the guaranteed analysis called the AAFCO statement. These diets are not balanced appropriately for domesticated dogs and can carry bacteria (salmonella) can cause diarrhea and sometimes death. This bacteria is also contagious to humans. I recommend diets made my quality pet food companies. In the US, I like Hills/Science Diet, Royal Canin, Purina, and Iams. These diets are made by veterinary nutritionists and tested for safety for decades. Dogs typically don’t get bored with the same diet like humans do. If they aren’t offered anything different they won’t know there is something better. If you wanted to add something more I would get the canned food that matches the dry food you pick and add that to his food. Watch how much you feed so you don’t give him too many calories. Hello, yes your dog needs a balanced diet that includes other sources of protein, fat, carbohydrates, essential minerals and essential vitamins. You may find these well balanced in commercial diets most often. If you wish to continue feeding other things than dog food, you can supplement these on her food. Congrats on the new puppy! I would definitely start slowly transitioning him to a commercial dog food. I am not sure which brands you have in your area but I love royal canin, science diet, iams, and purina. If you don't have these brands, the main thing is that you want to try to find a large breed puppy formula for him to be on until he is about 1 year old. I would start by stopping the milk as this can cause him to have an upset tummy. I would also start to slowly mix in the new puppy food and over about 10 days, increase the amount of puppy food and decrease the amount of chicken and rice. I hope this helps!

Bread isn't really a great choice to feed a dog, it is quite stodgey and fattening and the gluten can upset dog's stomachs. Moreover an occasional egg is okay but they are quite fatty so shouldn't be fed all the time. With this diet your dog is likely not getting the correct balance of nutrients. I would highly recommend feeding the best complete dog food you can afford, twice a day. If you really want you can add healthy foods to the diet to supplement it.
