What are the best supplements for Cocker Spaniel joints, fur, eyes?

A good quality essential fatty acid supplement, such as DermCaps or EicosaCaps, will promote healthy skin and coat. A quality multi-vitamin such as Pet Tabs, VetriScience tabs or NuPro can be added to a quality diet. Recommended joint supplements include Welactin, Dasuquin or Cosequin. The most important factor is to keep Mila lean and active. Obesity and inactivity will negatively impact her life and may shorten it. Regular veterinary care, especially echocardiograms when she is older, may identify any conditions early.

Dasuquin with MSM and Cosequin DS Plus MSM (both by Nutramax Labs) are excellent products. I prefer these because it is the same company that makes the human product, Cosamin, and one of the few companies that submits its products for outside testing to verify ingredients. The GlycoFlex line of products would also be one to consider. These are my own personal recommendations.

Great question! I really like Dasuquin and Cosequin as joint supplements for dogs. I have found that in senior dogs with arthritis, Dasuquin is a great option because it contains ASU, which stands for Avocado & Soybean Unsaphonifiables. ASU is seen as considerably more effective in regards to repairing stiff, sore, and injured joints. For Oscar, I'd recommend Dasuquin. I hope this helps!

Hello. The best thing to do is start Bella on a good glucosamine supplement. Products made by Nutramax like Cosequin are excellent. A good quality fish oil supplement may be started, too, as this can help some aging changes & may also help with her itching. Vetriscience I believe have a treat formula for omega 3 fatty acids. I really like dasuquin but flexadin is also good. I have not used the naturvet joint supplement but you could try it. The both have a soft chew formula. Naturvet has an omega 3 FA supplement called omega gold. This would also be a good FA option. I hope this helps!
