Is Doxycycline 100mg once daily enough for dog kennel cough?
Unfortunately, by law, I cannot give you a dosage without having seen your dog in person for a hands-on exam and have established a client-patient-veterinarian relationship. However, while many dogs in shelter situations contract kennel cough, your dog could suffer from another upper airway infection that requires a different treatment. "Others" in the rescue organization are not trained veterinarians, and not qualified to diagnose diseases, much less prescribe medicine. I suggest you call your veterinarian and have your new dog checked. This is also an opportunity to have your pet meet your vet and make sure, he gets the correct and best treatment possible.
